By the term “carcass work” is meant the construction of the structure of a building or an equipment. There are two types of structures: architectural and engineering. The architectural structures are the residential buildings and the engineering structures are the roads, the dams, the bridges etc.
The building can be divided in different parts, called elements of the building. Elements of the building are the ground floor and the framework, whose work is very often called a “carcass work”. Other elements of the building are the floors, the ceilings, the walls, the doors and the windows, suspended ceilings etc.
The carcass work includes the delivery of the deep foundations and earthworks and also everything needed for the beginning of the construction works of the building, for example drainage of the foundations, fencing and securing the construction site, building the temporary supporting buildings and warehouses. The carcass work also includes the construction of the groundwork and the walls above the foundations, the floors and the walls (antiseismic flangs) of reinforced concrete, the columns, the masonry, the chimneys, the shafts, the stairwells etc.
